_ Turnaround time is based on the day the samples are received at the lab until the day the completed work is shipped.  Turnaround times may vary during the year, depending on current backlog. 

 

Standard turnaround time is ~4 weeks, which may increase during peak season.

Optional Treatments

 

**Permanent cover slips are free**  Please note the following policy change (due to client feedback):  Thin sections are provided without a cover slip unless requested by the client.  As always, permanent cover slips remain FREE of charge!

 

We reserve the right to surface impregnate any sample when deemed necessary to obtain optimum results and to charge the client.

 

We also reserve the right to cut samples down to size when necessary and to charge the client.  When possible, please supply a ~22mm x 42mm x 20mm thick rock sample to prepare a standard-sized thin section, otherwise rock cutting charges may be applied to obtain necessary sample size for mounting.  The sizing also applies to large-sized sections, please supply a ~40mm x 65mm x 20mm thick sample for the larger thin sections.  Only the cut down rock chip is returned to the client unless requested.

 

**Engraving is free**…Please note, sample numbers are marked in ink with transparent covering.

 

**Orientations are free**  Please label your sample(s) with the desired orientation on the opposite side to the rock face that is to be mounted when possible.

 

**Please limit the number of characters of the sample label to 8 or fewer when possible.
