**Educational institutions and government agencies receive an automatic 12% discount off our thin section rates.  Applies to all thin sections, polished thin sections, fluid inclusion sections and polished thick sections only (EXCLUDING KIMBERLITES AND SPECIAL HANDLING SAMPLES).**

Thin Sections   (~30 micron thickness unless otherwise requested)

 

**Permanent cover slips are free**  Please note the following policy change (due to client feedback):  Thin sections are provided without a cover slip unless requested by the client.  As always, permanent cover slips remain FREE of charge!

 

When the slide size is not indicated in the client’s order sheet, 27mm x 46mm slide will be selected.

 

We reserve the right to surface impregnate any sample when deemed necessary and to charge the client.

 

We also reserve the right to cut samples down to size when necessary and to charge the client.  When possible, please supply a ~22mm x 42mm x 20mm thick rock sample to prepare a standard-sized thin section, otherwise rock cutting charges may be applied to obtain necessary sample size for mounting.  The thicker sample is also of value in the event we need to make a second thin section of the sample.  The sizing also applies to large-sized sections, please supply a ~45mm x 70mm x 20mm thick sample for the larger thin sections.

**Orientations are free**  Please label your sample(s) with the desired orientation on the opposite side to the rock face that is to be mounted and when possible, please limit the number of characters of the label to 8 or fewer.

_ Turnaround time is based on the day the samples are received at the lab until the day the completed work is shipped.  Turnaround times may vary during the year, depending on current backlog.  Standard turnaround time is ~4 weeks, which may increase during peak season.

_ VERY IMPORTANT – All Canadian and international orders are charged in Canadian $ and all USA based orders are charged in US$ according to the pricing above.
